THE LION KING!

The Lion King- wallpaperToday, I want to work with my favorite story when I was child, and now! The Lion King it’s perfect to tell in the class, because you can teach a lot of vocabulary and differents values. I prepare a sequence for children to more or less, 9 years old.

In this story, I introduce the ITC. The ITC are the new tools. We need to know and work with them correctly. We have to use them to motivate students and to take advantage of all the posivilities that ITC give us.

I hope that you really like it!

PRE-TELLING:

I prepare a picture in Gloster. This picture is good to introduce the characters (in this part we can teach a lot of animal vocabulary), the main character and his personality. Later, with the video we can listen the song and teach a new concept: «the circle of life».

Here, you are the link to the activity:

If children are more excited with the story and very interested in it we can see the film. Here, you have the complete film in English:

POST-TELLING:

In the post-telling children can work the «Circle of life». In the story we can see this concept and we can work it with a craft.

Children have to make their own circle of life. For this, it’s necessary that they had brought to the school photos of their families, friends, classmates, etc.

They have to paint a circle in a paper, and later, they have to paint their own circle of life with themselves; their family, classmates, friends, hobbies, dreams, etc. Later, they can to explain it for the rest of the class.

Here you are a GLOSSARY with the vocabulary that you can teach with the story:
